Drawing on popular motifs from the much loved novel\, the afternoon tea will be a fitting tribute to the beloved fictional characters of Neverland. \nIn true British fashion\, guests will enjoy a delicious array of teas presented by the Tea Lady Ms Diane\, plus a sweet and savory selection of magical finger foods with a creative twist\, such as pixie dust biscuits\, lost boy sandwiches\, tick-tock tarts\, and fresh scones! Be entertained by the dancers of Wilmington Dance Theatre as they present an abbreviated performance of “Peter Pan” before its debut on the Wilson Center Stage. Tea party guests will also have the opportunity to take photos with the Neverland characters during a meet and greet! Specialized raffles from donors and local businesses will also be available. \n“But you never exactly knew whether there would be a real meal or just a make believe\, it all depended upon Peter’s whim.” – from Peter Pan and Wendy from JM Barrie \nAll proceeds from the tea will fund the 501-c3 non profit Wilmington Dance Theater. Experience with them the grandeur of the Land of the Sweets as never before\, and marvel at the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier as they dance the grand pas de deux. DESCRIPTION:WCFA’s and TPDC technique weeks are designed to equip\, educate\, strengthen and prepare the dancer. This rigorous schedule is packed with challenging and informative classes taught by excellent guest artists and WCFA faculty. Students will enjoy training in ballet technique\, pointe/pre-pointe\, variations/choreography\, partnering\, contemporary\, modern\, jazz\, tap\, musical theatre\, precision\, improvisation\, Progressing Ballet Technique/strength training\, acro/tumble\, stretch\, injury prevention\, nutrition\, anatomy and dance history. Intensives are geared for ages 9-up.\nAugust Dance Intensive for Intermediate-Advanced\nJuly 31st- August 4th – 9 am – 4 pm (WCFA and TPDC auditions will be on August 4th) \nCost: $400 / week for approx. 32 hrs instruction. \n50% deposit due at registration with full balance due on the first day of intensive. \nStudents should wear leotards\, tights\, warmups/coverups\, ballet\, tap\, and jazz shoes. Students en pointe should bring their pointe shoes. Dancers will need to bring a lunch\, water to drink throughout the day\, and a notebook with a pencil/pen for taking notes.
